Contest 209: Have a cow, man
We were having lunch in the country last weekend when these magnificent beasts appeared on the other side of the river. I was so taken with them, I just had to photograph them.

Carol, my partner, couldn't understand what I wanted photographs of cows for. Come to think of it, I'm not sure myself. Surely there's some purpose these beautiful animals can be put to?

High res is here.

By the time most of you read this I'll be heading off to France for two whole weeks of no email, no computer, no faxes... can't wait. David Asch will be looking after things here in my absence, and posting the next two Friday Challenges (which, like adult teeth, are sitting there waiting to sprout forth). See you all when I get back!

Thank God I'm not alone on the "What are you taking a photograph of that" syndrome! (although my collection of postbox photographs is getting out of control)

Have a great holiday Steve... if I can get on the computer for enough uninterupted time, I'm going to have a go at this one!

No cow mutilation today...
A more benevolent form of alien encounter... this time. I took this photo of the cows near my country home in Latvia. Fortunately, I've never seen such a sight... in Latvia...

James, stop it, you're killing me! LOL

Mariong, the magic cow transformation bath! Fantastic concept. Well done.

Dikidee, your image is wonderful.

Seems like this weeks challenge is lending itself to some daft interpretations. So here's mine. The story goes that the cows have been drafted in to give the Matadors some early season practice however, they appear totally disinterested and far more concerned with rehearsing their part for the next episode of 'The Bill'

Sorry!!

Nick

Watch out, Steve! They're trying to surround you!

At last I can ‘come out’ and admit my shame and let my fellow Photoshoppers know that I, too, attend counselling sessions with ‘Cow Photographers Anonymous’. I, too, thought ‘Why am I taking this photograph?’. I thought I was alone in the world but now I know that there lots of us ‘CPA’ members out there. Don’t be ashamed it’s perfectly natural to want to photograph cows in the name of Photoshop and use the excuse that ‘It might come in handy one day’ - it did for me!
