Contest 228: Skating on thin ice
Hi ho, hi ho - we're well into December, so it's time to crank up the artificial snow machine and think about getting festive.

I have this picture of a skater, who needs to have her skates changed from roller to ice. The chief challenge, though, will be to create a reflective surface for her to skate on: what would it look like? How would the reflection appear? High res is here.

For those who would like a bit more of a challenge, here is the same skater from a different angle - which should present a rather more tricky reflection problem!

Quick one, got lots of coursework to finish. If I get time I may do another.

Great to see that my failure could be inspirational, and it gives me a chance to improve.

Damnit! I knew Lex would get in early with his and I wanted to beat him to the post for once, but no such luck, lol. Good start buddy.

Here is my first attempt, and of course I'd have to get all weird with it. I'm actually quite pleased with this (shock horror!) considering I've never done any kind of reflection before the other week's challenge, but I found the reflection itself bloody tough going. I never realised how fiddley it is. Not just a case of flipping it the other way and Bob's yer uncle. But it was definitely fun and challenging. You'll have to click the full size to get the reflection properly though, sorry about the size. Got the idea from my mother always letting her tea go stone bloody cold (and then microwaving it...) and I thought, well why not - a tea time skater.
Might do another over the weekend a bit closer up, I was still finding my feet with this one. (....no pun intended )

Edit: Looking at it again, I think that ice needs to come down a bit closer to the tea underneath, think that still needs more work.

Thought she would need some warmer clothing and a nice scarf.

Nice one Ben. Glad Maiden put some clothes on her. Lexus and Mad Lep were quick off the mark! I'm still putting coal on the fire ;)Vibeke's reminds me of Russia and Dr Zhivago's Laura.

Thought about clothes, but you see so many brave people jogging in London during the winter months, dressed in next to nothing, why would she be any different?.

Hmmm, too much information for a Saturday afternoon Trevor?. I suppose you're going to tell us that you used football socks next. Oh, you said 'small', silly me!!!

OOps agree Nick, I'm just joking, and running is great even when frezzing cold. (Did London to Brighton twice)

I'm having technical difficulties. It isn't supposed to be that tiny.
