Challenge 345: Space suit
I came across an interesting section of NASA's website the other day, which offers free-to-use 3D models of various pieces of space equipment - check it out here.

I downloaded a spaceman's suit, and while the quality is more or less OK, it just doesn't look real. Can you add some sparkle to it? I've supplied it a a large enough size for those of you who only want to work on the head, but the full body is there if you want that instead.

If you have the Extended edition of Photoshop CS3 to CS5, you may like to download some other models to incorporate into your scenes - or for use in another 3D program (that's you, Gordon).

High res is here.

Hah Ben. You've gotten around the problem I have: The first thing I'm going to do is get rid of that black, fuzzy shadow of his arm (there's no atmosphere to diffuse shadows).

I don't get all the references, but I recognize Major Tom. It looks like a great poster.

Re: Challenge 345: Space suit
A very quick one from me, as I have to finish college work but need to get this out of my system, so I can concentrate. Had to do it because of the spaceman's arms:

Re: Challenge 345: Space suit
Thank you - there was just something about the arms that said "lawnmower" and the rest followed

Re: Challenge 345: Space suit
PD - I like it !- Your 'How to Cheat in Space' is probably more topical than you think in view of the long running debate on whether the US faked the original moon landing to get one over on the Russians.
Maybe we should get Mr Caplin to closely scrutinize the original footage and see if he can spot any obvious errors - Steve could cause a worldwide expose which would make wikileaks look like a small job for a handyman plummer on a Saturday afternoon!
