Challenge 862: The mystery shop
This week's Challenge comes courtesy of DavidMac, who photographed this splendid shop in Antwerp. That glorious woodwork could really do with a coat of varnish, though. And what sort of products might a shop like this offer? High res is here. |

The quickest way of doing this, David, is for you to grab your tin of varnish, a brush, and a camera and dash off back to Kloosterstraat! |

Isn't it? It's in a part of Antwerp that still clings on a bit to the Hippy era. Vintage shops and head shops. _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |

Interesting, David, but no varnish. I think Steve is having a laugh with this one. |

Re: Challenge 862: The mystery shop
I've never seen a more beautiful shop front than this one, David. Thank you for the image. Selecting the carving was tricky but was worth the effort. It does need colour or varnish - matt of course I think the mushroom is speaking to me, Loyd http://vimeo.com/564980373 _________________ Dorothy: Toto, I've a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore |

A fine animation from Anna, perfectly matched to the music of Loreena McKennitt. |

Re: Challenge 862: The mystery shop
I was curious to see if I could achieve a glossy finish, after I posted, by playing around with curves, blending modes and shadow/highlights. This is the result. Thank you Michael. Couldn't resist Loreena for this one! _________________ Wicked Witch of the West: I'm melting! I'm melting! |

Who wants a png cut out of the varnished wood sculpting? I've done it but as per usual, am getting carried away with the rest of the image. Nice re work of the store front David. I'm getting worried about all these space cadets on the site...lol, Lloyd, no wonder you see moose all over...specially for Michael...Mooses...lol Lovely video clip Anna. _________________ The grass is greener on the other side of the fence because there is more $hit there. |
