Challenge 1046: Jellied eels
I passed this curious shop in Broadway Market, east London, a couple of weekends ago. I imagine the new owners, who I take to be opticians, didn't want (or weren't allowed) to remove the original signage from when the building had quite a different purpose.

But can you think of a way of combining eye tests with jellied eels? As I write this the grisly fate of Gloucester in King Lear springs to mind, so I would as you all to have some measure of restraint.

High res is here.

Quote from themovemarket.com

"9 Broadway Market, London is a property - it is ranked as the most expensive property* in E8 4PH, with a valuation of £1,670,000."

That's a lot of jellied eels.

This is not my entry due to the lack of a staring image, but this is the first thing that popped into my mind this week.

I was walking my dog, Rags, this morning and this great idea popped into my head. I thought that I would get stuck into it as soon as I got home and had a cup of tea and a couple of hot cross buns.

So here I am in front of the screen to find that Ant has already beaten me to it.

Looks like I'll have to take Rags out for another walk

Not an entry Steve - a diversion.

Eel is a national dish in Flanders, the north of Belgium. My first home in Brussels was close by the old fish market where there were lots of wholesale eel and fish merchants. Happily this one's name is less unfortunate in Flemish than in English.

Took me a while to spot the subtle movement on the trio. That's classic Loyd.

Thanks Loyd. How are things in tornado alley? I see that you had some biggies recently.

Gordon - No tornados close to me yet, but extremely high winds gusting to 60-80 mph have been a real pain. Lot's of wild fires, many rural homes lost. Tornado season has just started so plenty of time for all that craziness.
