Challenge 1117: The Duck Tour
One of the sights on the Thames a couple of weekends ago was the Duck Tour, an amphibious vehicle that cruises down the river and then drives up a ramp onto the road to continue its journey. Can you show how it looks on land? You'll have to source your own wheels. Or hovercraft. Or just use magic… High res is here. |

Re: Challenge 1117: The Duck Tour
I remember taking a Similar tour around Liverpool’s Albert Dock some years ago. It was the famous Yellow Duck Tour, a WW2 amphibious landing craft swapping its camo colour for bright yellow paint. Shortly afterwards, I remember one sank with 30 + tourists on board, turning it into the Yellow Submarine tour. The operator's licence was revoked, and sadly the Duck Tours are no more (in Liverpool). |

My first thought too, once I had got the serious bit out of the way. It's really funny Ant ..... something to do with the multiple legs. _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |

Re: Challenge 1117: The Duck Tour
The difficulty with this challenge is that there are dozens of images of this boat to be found and it would be all too easy just to use one. But I am old fashioned and believe that a challenge of this type should use Steve’s photograph. So this is the boring literal minded entry. That is certainly making a rod for my back but a challenge is a challenge. I haven’t been entirely successful but I have only myself to blame. (Before some bright spark points out that the bus is completely dry and the water undisturbed, that is because the bus is backing into the river not driving out of it. )

I agree David. It is only too easy to invent your own image which has little or nothing to do with Steve's photograph. I try to make the job more challenging, not less so. Like you I have already put the wheels back on this boat. Now I have to find a background which will keep me busy for another six days, or think of something else. |

My wife & I did a Duck tour landing on this beach near the town of 1770, named after the date Cook was here. |
