Contest 32: Ferarri Frenzy
In Steve's absence, here's one he made earlier...

It was my brother's 50th birthday recently, and as part of his
festivities he hired a Ferrari for a week. He really enjoyed himself,
as you can see. Any chance of a quick fix and retouch before he has to
take it back to the garage?

High res here.

And for those of you who want the added detail, he looks a bit like me!

Boring, but got the job done (kind of).

BTW can you turn on the foglights on a Ferrari without turning on the main headlamps?? I can!

Actually never been near enough a ferrari to find out, being a penniless musician... where did I put my violin??

That's excellent Russ

For our non-Brit members this character is called Arthur Daley a used-cars salesman and all-round dodgy entrepreneur from a TV series called Minder.

I think David's a Little Britain fan. Incomprehensible to anyone who hasn't seen the show, and to many who have!

Thanks Bobby, you should still carry on with your idea. No rule says we cannot have two roads

Hmmm this has not turned out quite as well as I was hoping to get it. As there seems to be a bit of a "car salesman" pitch on most of the entries I thought I would follow suite with this.

A FerrLambo. I guess this best bit is that I actually got to for a spin in the lambo that was used in this photo. (and yes they ROCK!! 0mph to AAAAARRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH! in 4.2 sec)

Re: Contest 32: Ferarri Frenzy
Some great respray jobs this week - but what have you got against red? We've had purple, green and yellow Ferraris muscling in on our scarlet supermodel.

A classy bit of retouching from Russ Davey got the ball rolling. Very nice bodywork there, Russ, and lighting up those headlights - or sidelights, or foglights, or whatever - really adds sparkle to the scene.

Great work from maiden as well - I particularly like the way you've cleaned up that original number plate, it's really good attention to detail. Best of all is the price sticker, which looks exactly as if it's under the windscreen. Excellent shading there! The folding on the paper is classy, too, and it fits perfectly in Arthur Daley's hands. Disappointed it's not Dennis Waterman opposite, but there you go…

ChrisPucci has given us a far more exotic beach road location, infinitely more suited to the car in question. My brother's clearly not watching where he's going, which could be how the car ended up in that mess in the first place. A couple of things, though, Chris: watch that perspective! The car's way too low in this scene. And be careful of over-strong colours, they really detract from the realism.

Looks like you got those raindrops off a treat, BobbyJo. Nice work! Again, though, be careful of using colours that are too saturated to be realistic. Swiss Toni's a little low on the ground, though, isn't he? Perspective again! But a great retouching job, all the same.

I've always been told to watch out for bargain cars that turn out to be two wrecks welded together, but Cuban Pete's hybrid is too good to pass up. Fantastic blending there: a truly seamless join between the two cars. My only slight quibble is the way you've left the ridges on the bonnet: they clearly point slightly to the left, whereas the Lamborghini has been photographed head-on. Bit of a Shear needed there, perhaps?

An unusually all-English contest this week. Perhaps our American cousins have been baffled by all the references to UK TV shows?

Looks like everyone had fun this past week. I'm taking an Adobe Illustrator class and have not had time to use PS much, but I have watched the progress here. I'll be back soon.

Ah well, a bit of confession is needed or at least an explaination, the paper was already in Arthur Daley's hands and was convienently blank so it was more a case of adding the photo and ensuring it matched the creases and then a few blurred lines & dots with the paint brush to simulate text.

Yes I too was dissapointed it wasn't Dennis Waterman but there wasn't any photos of high enough quality to use, so Arthur's Nephew, Ray, was as good as I could muster.
