Contest 34: A grave business
Interesting thread started by Dezolat0r this week, asking how to dig holes in the ground. Well, this seemed like too good an opportunity to pass up, so it's over to you. Here's a grave that needs to be dug - you might recognize the tombstone from the book. Feel free to add your own sky, mist, inscription, hordes of undead…

High res is here. Get digging!

A challenge based on the one thing I can't do in Photoshop and it's all my fault >_<

Actually scratch that, there's a billion different things I can't do with this thing.

Guess I better start practicing them holes.

This will be great practice for you Dezolat0r and remember it isn't a competition for who's is best, just a Challenge to fine tune our Photomontaging skills.

I think you'll dig a great hole.

Haha, thank you for your kind words maiden!

Believe it or not, I was playing around with Photoshop 'til about 2 in the morning last night, and I think I managed to make a pretty good hole in spite of my earlier problems. I just need to work on the rest of the montage now and hopefully it'll turn out okay.

Re: Contest 34: A grave business
Okay! I've finally finished! Well, at least I think I have. I'd appreciate any criticism as I'm aware it's far from perfect. Still, I'm very proud of it; took about 6 hours in total. And I managed to make a hole at last!

Anybody recognize where I got my zombie cat's head from?

Re: Contest 34: A grave business
Not sure what happened there my image looks all pixelated. It didn't when I was working on it. Would those in the know think its down to me saving it as low quality on the save for web option ?

Chris, by the file size, it looks like you've over compensated on compression.

Re: Contest 34: A grave business
Hi David. How have I done that, again its not something I have done consciously. When I saved the image using Save for Web I set it for medium quality. Is there another setting I have mabe changed in error. Thanks for your help.

Hmm, not sure - I tend to set the percentage rather than just choosing a preset. On an image that size, you could probably get away with 75-85%.
