Contest 100: The first century!
Well, those last 100 weeks have just flown by. For the grand 100th Friday Challenge, I thought we'd raise the interest level by offering a prize for the best entry. The fabulous people at Alien Skin Software have generously agreed to give a copy of their stunning Eye Candy suite. For those who don't know it, Eye Candy is simply the best set of Photoshop filters in existence. Use it to create fantastic fur, glass, fire and smoke effects, as well as many others: and the instant Chrome filter is mind-bogglingly good. This is the only set of third party filters I use on a regular basis, and it really is worth having. So what's the challenge? To celebrate our centenary, I'd like you to bake me a cake. But what with all the food scares these days, I'm going to have to insist on it being made entirely from synthetic ingredients. Just to spell it out: No photographs may be used in the construction of this cake, or any part of the background or cooking utensils that may accompany it. You may be asked to show your working! Good luck! Now for the small print: the last time we offered a prize was for the 50th Challenge. There was a lot of discussion about whether this raised the spectre of competitiveness and took the fun out of entering; in the end, we had just three entries (although they were fantastic entries). Please, don't fall into this trap again! I'd love to see all your work, irrespective of whether you think someone else has already posted an entry that you can't compete with.

Enough chit-chat. I don't stand a chance on this one being as I always have to start with a photo. However, allow me to post a "prelimary" entry...baked from scratch. |

Crud... seems I've been on an every 3rd contest pace... and so looking forward to the 3rd contest... until I read this... Nice incentive... (though remembering the actual attempts at real-life cake making, which generally turned out leaning more than the tower in Pisa... and not tasting nearly as good) What the heck... you asked for entries... you bear that in mind!!! _________________ Drawing attention to what otherwise might be overlooked... emphasizing things that matter. |

First of not sure how many to come..... This is hard to do from scratch. This is just a preview from one of my proof pictures for this picture. As its subject to change if Steve answers my last question. _________________ Fox On The Run |

Re: Contest 100: The first century!
I was thinking I would have had much more success if I could use corel draw, but I'm just learning that program and that wouldn't be making it in photoshop, would it?? _________________ Pauline |
