Contest 161: Reflection exercise
A bit of a technical Challenge this week. I took my kids water skiing when we were in France, and I was intrigued by the reflections produced on this river. Conditions: overcasts day, no wind, minimal current.

Can you reproduce the water surface? At the end of the week I'll post the original photograph so you can see what it really looked like.

High res is here.

What a challenge this one has been!!

It was also a very interesting experiment in perception. How we think things should be or look like - isnt always the reality of a situation.

I haven't been able to come out and play over the last couple of weeks. I sure missed it. Anyway, here's my try for this week.

Just to say I have redone my entry (lookout for the fish and ripples!)

Kate I'm impressed with your realistic water reflection/ambiance : it doesn't look fake!

Hi, this is my first attempt at anything, on the internet, like this, that I have submitted!

Have had the book for a few months but not had time to really get into it, maybe one day soon!

Re: Contest 161: Reflection exercise
I wasnt happy with the water on my first enrty which was originally blue sea, so I went down to the Thames to get some real river water, also added gaussian blur and lowered opacity on the reflections then added slight blur to the line were the land and water meet to take some of the harshness out
