Contest 166: Hogg wash
This statue in London is in memory of Quintin Hogg, the founder of The Polytechnic (which became The London Polytechnic, then The Polytechnic of Central London, and is now The University of Westminster). It's the kind of pose you wouldn't get away with these days without questions being asked.

We did a 'bringing statues to life' Challenge a year and a half ago, but I think this one offers some different challenges. So here's your task: can you make these people look real?

Not an easy one, I know, so if you find the prospect of tinting all that dark bronze too daunting, you could always consider adding or removing some props instead...

High res is here.

An idea rather than a solution!

And here's a second entry, more in tune with the theme:

This is a tough one. Haven't got time to do the whole statue, but learned a lot from attempting this little section. Great challenge.

Thank you, I really enjoyed this one. I'm old enough to remember a time before TV, so how amazing a book like HTCIPS would have been.

Hello Everyone, didn't have time to finish the statue base, so I thoughtI would leave it outside. Brian Ruddock I loved what you did - shame you didn't add colour first, wish i had thought of it!!

Lady, you do amaze me. I do enjoy your entries, and this one is no disapointment, the hand on the chin is a neat touch. Wonderful.

Elliott, really nice job. Like the way you've removed the shining bornze hilights so the clothes have a more material-like texture.

This one was fun. I almost skipped it as I have been really short on time lately, but then I just couldn't resist. A very interesting challenge.
