Contest 224: All tired out
I had to get a tyre/tire repaired recently, and was struck by the complexity of some of the machines in the workshop. Here, for instance, is a machine that takes them off the wheels of the car. Seems to me this machine could be put to a far more interesting use... High res (pre cut out) is here. ![]() |

Now your in my neck of the woods, Steve. My first job was tire/tyre repair as a teen. I used many machines similar to this one. And wouldn't look forward to having to do it again at my age!! ![]() _________________ "If I find 10,000 ways something won't work, I haven't failed. Steve, I just noticed when I went to the large image that you cut out the hose reel in the back. This isn't attached to the machine. It's attached to the wall behind the machine! I guess it really doesn't matter. We can finish cutting it out of the picture! _________________ "If I find 10,000 ways something won't work, I haven't failed. Re: Contest 224: All tired out
Thank you Anna. It was inspired by the fact that I had just, the evening before this Challenge was posted, been to an emergency dental clinic! Neil, you're quite right the hose isn't part of the machine but I kept it in because it looked even more horrendous! _________________ Atheism is a non-prophet organization. |

Well Gordon, you were not the only one thinking of a medical use for a tire repair machine! ![]() ![]() ![]() _________________ "If I find 10,000 ways something won't work, I haven't failed. I am not discouraged, because every wrong attempt discarded is often a step forward".... Thomas Edison |

Sticking with its original hydraulic theme, perhaps a portable fire pump. ![]() |

Re: Contest 224: All tired out
I joined ages ago when I first discovered Steves book, but I have had little chance until now to participate. I am having such fun working on this week's challenge - and hope to post the results of my efforts later. What a lovely, friendly forum this is. |
