Challenge 800: How time has passed
Welcome to the 800th Friday Challenge. I've had several useful suggestions for this one, including GKB saying we should make a Faberge egg and DavidMac coming up with a host of ideas around 800AD (Charlemagne crowned Holy Roman Emperor), 800 BC (start of the Iron Age) and curious facts such as 800 being the sum of four consecutive prime numbers 193 + 197 + 199 + 211.

But it was Vibeke's idea that most appealed to me: show how things have changed since the first Friday Challenge.

The very first one, as it turns out, was to crack open a boiled egg, so Gordon was right on topic there. But here's a repeat of Friday Challenge number 5, from July 2004, where I asked Forum members to tidy my desk.

In the intervening years, the technology you see here has become seriously outdated. So can you repeat this Challenge, tidying my desk once more, but this time updating the tech?

High res (or what passed for high res in 2004) is here.

This should be fun, but the scary thing is that the scanner on the right looks like the one on my desk, and I'm sure I still have an external drive like the one to the left of the screen.
Thanks for all the welcome back.

Steve, is this on the ground floor? French windows? Balcony?

[EDIT] Forget it. The foliage outside shows the windows are never opened.

Tidy it or bring it up date? From what I remember of my visit last year it's even untidier now than it looks here ........

Or maybe it's just my imagination ..........

As it never was and never will be!
Apologies for making so free with your curieaux.

Matching your bizarre screen angle was fun!

Now that, David, is as fine a two day clean-up job as I have seen in a very long time.

One day. Started Saturday. Non stop till time to cook dinner. Posted then. Working lunch.

However I realise after posting that I missed a bit. I shan't repost. I'll let the gurus spot it for themselves .......

You too Frank. Love the box. Neat touch ......... hides a lot too.

Now here's a little conundrum. How come the box is an older model than the one on the desk?

Answers in a sealed envelope to PO Box 800 UK.

Thanks Anna and David.
David, my tablet is just left of the computer
Anna, very imaginative and super well done. I watched a few times to catch all the added facets . Great job. Now that is ultra futuristic.

Well I've done enough housework in your office Steve. You'll just have to tidy up underneath the desk yourself before Carol gets home.

BTW, I never knew that you had moved to the Lake District.

Aha! Are you a left hander Frank? Never occurred to me that was a drawing slate sitting there. I thought that was a completely independent pad of the digital sketchpad ilk. 'Pologies for doubting you.

Mind you I forgot one altogether!

Is that double screen set up your own?

Re: Challenge 800: How time has passed
David, pologies accepted, no, I'm a right hander but my wireless intuos pro small sits off to the side. I alternate between it and a mouse, preferring the pen for any PS work.
