Re: Challenge 802: Antisocial art
I was not going to finish it today, but once I got started. So much for the garden and housework.

Great choice Vibeke. The image lends itself perfectly to this. Nicely done. Clever ruse with the red bundle ......

Re: Challenge 802: Antisocial art
This is a painting by Vladimir Kush a Russian born surrealist painter and sculptor called 'Always Together'....

... but now 'Always Apart'

Interestingly mobile 'contents'.

Re: Challenge 802: Antisocial art
I decided that I ought to have a bash at animating Vladimir Kush's surreal scissors, 'Always Together'. The music is the 13th Movement, 'The Swan', from Camille Saint-Saëns' "the Carnival of the Animals"

Very sweet!

Now here's a silly question of supreme triviality and unimportance, but shouldn't the screw head remain fixed relative to the rear blade (into which it is presumably screwed) and rotate relative to the near blade.

Re: Challenge 802: Antisocial art
Thank you Gordon. How odd that we both picked the same artwork out of the many thousands of possibilities. I was searching with Google for a picture in dire need of renovation and with two or more people in it. Someone (couldn't find out who) had already renovated this one, but in a half-hearted sort of way, and I couldn't resist it.
Two interesting things I couldn't miss:
1. The characters are beautifully done, but the background is a bit sub-standard, so I suspect that Leonardo gave that job to his student or students, or maybe the last renovator messed it up.
2. One of the characters is obviously a woman, and, to me, Mary Magdalene is the obvious choice. She fits like a glove next to Jesus, and she is cradling her hands as if she were holding a baby.
3. The view through the window is poor and should have been more blurred, so bringing out Jesus's head, which I have tried to do.
You have also done a lot of good work this week, Gordon, well done.

Re: Challenge 802: Antisocial art
I have made some mistakes in this picture, but I will not re-post it.
The man on the left looks like he is wearing tiights. The shadows of the trestles' legs do not reach far enough. There is a mark on the wall in the bottom right hand corner. There may be others.
I'll put it down to "working" instead of going to bed.

Oh, I nearly forgot. For those who have not seen it before, here's the renovated Last Supper by Leonardo da Vinci.

I have been desperately trying to avoid another masked artwork. But I have decided to make an exception for this one .........

Great work Mariner, thanks for showing the original too, really gives an idea of the work that has gone into it.
