Challenge 820: The dressing room
I'm back from two weeks in France, and as is traditional I come armed with enough Friday Challenges to keep us going for a few months.

No trip to La Belle would be complete without a visit to a flea market, so here's an interesting find I came across on the first day of my holiday. Of course, this table/chair assembly should really grace a theatrical dressing room rather than an outdoor marketplace.

Can you relocate it? And can you find a way of doing so that doesn't involve performing a fiddly cutout around all those legs?

High res is here.

I was tempted to put Steve's head on this character but resisted this time.

I know. I didn't spot it until after I'd posted. Since it was just a silly joke response to Steve's request I didn't bother with re-doing and re-posting.

Come to think of it that's some odd grey and white carpet you have there Gordon.

Joking aside I really like your entry! Made me laugh. Took me right back to the movie, which I loved!!

Re: Challenge 820: The dressing room
The cheap red Rexene of this mirror reminded me immediately of an amazingly kitsch beauty salon in Shanghai which Ingrid was taken to by a Chinese girlfriend.

So I've moved it to a Chinese movie location.

For some reason it proved far, far more difficult and time consuming than I had anticipated.

The Chinese set looks authentic David. Im just wondering though..should the lady with the pink face have a reflection? Of course, she could always be a vampire which eliminates the reflection problem

I pondered this one a lot. There's not a lot to go on but pure conjecture. I think, with the angle we have, and because she is quite far away from the mirror, it would reflect just past her right shoulder. If she were to lean in towards the mirror or move to her right, even a tiny bit, then she would definitely start to appear immediately.

I love the moving light beams on yours.

Very nicely done Michael. No sure why for me particularly - unless because it's a movie reference.

Of course it's the movie connection David. I was rather hoping you could tell us a story about the time you met Peter O'Toole, or Omar Sharif, or Anthony Quinn.

Re: Challenge 820: The dressing room
Sadly no to all three. OK - Anthony Quinn in passing when I was a very young film loader. Never spoke to him - far to lowly. But I do remember he was quite the gentlemen. A patrician who looked down from the heights, but not someone to whom this seemed to be terribly important.

Just my young uninformed impression at the time .........

Try me on Yul Brinner ............
