David, Loyd, Ant, and Anna great work!

Anna, I liked your realistic rendition of running water: it would be better appreciated if we could see it in more detail by bringing it closer. And how did you do the running water?

Michael, I have sent a telegram to the site owner to personally award you the "Gold Star" for outstanding work!

Thank you Michael. It looks realistic because it is real. I put a black piece of card behind my tap in the kitchen and recorded the running water. I masked most of the background out then used screen mode to get rid of all the black.

Now that is impressive. Well above the normal call of duty!

In the end of course it is probably far easier than trying to 'build' it.

Chapeau.

Fascinating to see the various stages Michael. Personally I find the first 'sketch' version the most appealing even though it lacks the tank.

Beautiful work as always.

DUH! Just realised that this is the original. How monumentally stupid of me!

David, I am flattered to think that my work could have been mistaken for that of the excellent Mary Cassatt, or vice versa. Thank you.

Michael, thanks, but I do not think the Guru gives out gold stars!

Excellent Anna. Much better than the green screen videos on YouTube.

Re: Challenge 821: The wash basin
Actually Anna you can help us here (like me) if A. How long was the duration of the recorded running water? B. What File type was it? C. And what file size was it?

Re: Challenge 821: The wash basin

Michael, I recorded it for 20 seconds using my phone as a .MOV file. It is 44MB. I guess you could record it for 5 seconds and then loop it, if size is an issue.

I've uploaded it to Vimeo for you (or anyone else) to download and use.

Thank you Gordon. Yes I agree. Sometimes trying to get rid of the green fringing can be really time consuming.
