This is the sequel to Tin Tin and the Shooting Star and what he experiences after eating the mushroom... Thank you Gordon for a wonderful pic of the mushroom. What a great find! http://vimeo.com/482539815 _________________ Dorothy: "there's no place like home!" |

This is just splendid Anna. I think one of the best I have seen from you. I won't even try to guess how you did the dancer! _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |

Hahahaha. The original Rin-Tin-Tin died in 1932 but he had a number of successors who carried on the same screen name. I can remember watching him in the early nineteen fifties in the Saturday morning children's shows at the local Gaumont. _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |

Re: Challenge 833: Magic mushroom
Thank you David and Michael. I'd like to know how the dancer was done also. I downloaded it from a video library and have spent quite a bit of time trying to replicate it but so far, nothing. It has to be a particle system but how they got the particles to follow the dancer has got me stumped. I'll keep working on it..things like this get under my skin and I don't rest until a solution is found! _________________ Dorothy: Toto, I've a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore |

Re: Challenge 833: Magic mushroom
Is this Bredene as in Belgium? If so, I had never heard of it, I had to look up. _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |

Re: Challenge 833: Magic mushroom
After looking at the book cover provided by Steve (looks like it is on a coastline) and reading about Tintin on Wikipedia, I did a search for 'Belgian coast'. Bredene was a name that came up, I then did an image search for Bredene, the background image I used was one of those. |

Re: Challenge 833: Magic mushroom
Yes. It looks like it. Typical Belgian seascape. Dunes and endless sand to the horizon when the tide is out. That's what made me wonder and look it up. That being said I would have to rate Bredene as one of Belgium's more underwhelming attractions ............. _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |

Re: Challenge 833: Magic mushroom
Willo, a very able 3D modeller modeled a 3D mesh of the Arado AR 196 A, a German reconnaissance plane from WW2. It is the same plane that features in The Shooting Star. I downloaded it and re-textured it to use in my first image. It is such a wonderful model that I wanted to show it up close. Snowy, being impossible to handle in the absence of Tintin, hitched a ride on the aircraft's wing until he was retrieved and transferred to the cockpit. He couldn't wait to be reunited with Tintin and jumped into the water before the plane had come to a halt. _________________ The grass is greener on the other side of the fence because there is more $hit there. |
