Challenge 837: Here's to 2021
One of the abiding traits of 2020 is the sight of everyone wearing face masks. But when will it all end? Will we be back to normal in 2021?

Here's an image courtesy of Wikipedia, showing a woman in a face mask at a youth centre, helping a child to make more face masks.

In the spirit of things can only get better, can you take her mask off? And perhaps have the pair making something more festive than masks? For an extra tricky challenge, you might want to rebuild her face under the mask rather than replacing her head altogether.

As it's Christmas Day next Friday, I'm taking the day off. You have two weeks to complete this one.

High res is here.

Happy Christmas, everyone.

I was wondering whether to say something. Not just wide angle but severely barrelled as well!

First to respond this week was Steve Caplin with a delightful Christmas themed fire place. An unexpected twist to Napoleon that gave me a good smile. Perhaps the shadows of the legs might be stronger in the same direction as those of the foreground present and chair? ...... but excellent and amusing work Steve.

Thank you Steve for helping us all make the best of a difficult year and keeping us entertainingly occupied for some of it. I, for one, really enjoy and appreciate it.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

He's beautifully done Michael - but somehow he seems to have lost his Napoleonic qualities .........

Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year to everyone! Am hoping to arrive in the UK on the 8th of January, but we've also got the new strain here in South Africa so it will be touch and go whether I can leave the country and if I will be allowed to enter the UK, fingers crossed!!!

I have posted my animated Christmas card in the Gordon Bain thread, and the "montages" section. If David has the temerity to ask "what dance is that?" then it's...the.. Santa-Reindeer Troupe Cha...Cha!

Re: Challenge 837: Here's to 2021
I am going to honestly say that this is probably the least satisfying challenge I have done since I first joined. The source photo is not only appallingly wide angle it is fish eye barrelled as well. So badly that the already rather ample lady in the foreground becomes quickly grotesque.

Stuff of nightmares Steve. I know you can say its part of the challenge but it's the wrong part for me. Nothing creative - just trying to cope with unneeded difficulties. Even trying to find backgrounds and table to match is hard enough but, when she is added back in, she looks inflated and her left arm has elephantiasis. Even the near side of her face alone is ballooned and bends slightly away from camera.

So here's my best shot anyway ........... I wish I could say I enjoyed it but, truthfully, that would not be entirely quite true.

Anyway Happy New Year everyone!!
