Re: Challenge 840: Inauguration Day
I have put texture and cracks in from a different source.

I have further adjusted the eyes to be less intense and less black.

George Washington has had a very minor tint so that he blends in with Joe.

The rocks to the left of Joe have been lightened.

Looking at your original the eyes were too black and too intense; anyway, see what you think, and a BIG thanks for your help in this matter

NB don't forget too click on image to get more detail and realism.

Good work Michael! This one is far more difficult than it seems.

The rock texture has done much to solve the difficulty I was having with skin texture looking too skin like. Very good!

Not sure about the eyes. They look fine but deep black eyes is very much a marked feature of the others. Frankly I'll live with them happily either way.

Yes to tinting and lightening.

So in these respects I think it is the best so far - definitely more stone like than my original offering.

BUT ........

.... I really liked my original cracks and I miss them. I think they really helped.

Anyway I shall not be fiddling this any more. I am far too curious to see what else develops from this challenge where I get the feeling that all of us are finding it trickier than we might have expected.

Thanks for this one Michael.

Here is my own newly updated Joe Biden:

It looks like I'm going to share the "Gold Star" with David

I'm pleased to hear that David, but I fear you have pipped me to the post.

Using filters from Topaz, I used another approach, but it still doesn't cut it.

I'm not keen on either of them, Trump or Biden - both are creepy in different ways - and the thought of looking at their faces for hours trying to turn them to stone was quite daunting.. So here is an 'artistic' alternative

Josephine, I prefer the second entry. Features are much more chiselled. David and Michael Sinclair .. fabulous!

Spock the Rock!

Terrific Anna. 3D render with a rock texture is a great way of pulling this one off.

Had you decided to do Joe, could you have found a model of him? I can't imagine you could build him from photos unless they are specifically taken for that purpose.

Re: Challenge 840: Inauguration Day
Great work everyone. Really interesting to read of the thoughts and processes used by all.

For some strange reason I keep expecting to see Napoleon show up instead of Biden.

Anna... Spock is wonderful... I am continually impressed by your ability to choose proper music for your videos.

As for me, with a clear conscience, I can't add Biden to Mt. Rushmore, nor Trump for that matter. I'm not sure what I am going to do, obviously it's not going to be 'on brief'.

Re: Challenge 840: Inauguration Day
Thank you Loyd, David and Michael

Loyd, I think Napoleon is still a strong contender for this challenge..it's an opportunity just waiting to be grabbed You could even animate the hat moving from Napoleon's head to Washington's..just saying.. thinking out aloud here :laugh

David, yes - there possibly is a 3d Biden out there but I didn't look for it..seeing him in 2d is enough for me

Well, I thought why not Napolean... then I thought, if Napolean, why not Winston. Next, I thought, why not photobomber ducks and geese... to help hide my quickie hack job.... (it's nearly 20mb and could take a little time to load. It runs a little too fast, but I had to cull every third frame, it was originally 30mb.)
