Challenge 869: In the shower
I spent last weekend in the medieval town of Shrewsbury for my nephew's wedding, and you'll see a few Challenges from here over the coming weeks. My hotel had a tiny bedroom, but a curiously well-appointed bathroom. Here's a shot of it, showing the bath reflected in the glass shower screen. Your challenge: can you, as tastefully as possible, put someone in the shower? And perhaps, for extra points, the bath as well? High res is here. |

...as tastefully as possible... aye, there's the rub. Steve, can you tell us the name of the hotel? |

It’s the Prince Rupert. Extra points if you can find out who Prince Rupert was and stick him in the shower! |

I'm about to do a full system drive re-format and a clean install of Big Sur. Fingers crossed! If I don't reappear for a while you'll know it's all gone pear shaped. _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |

Re: Challenge 869: In the shower
I will look for Prince Rupert. I only live 15 miles from Shrewsbury. BTW I once asked a resident of Shrewsbury if it was pronounced Shrew as in shoe, or Shroe, as in throw. The anwer was "It depends on which side of the river you live". Whatever that means. I pronounce it like shoe. |

My research indicates the Prince Rupert Hotel is famous for it's ghosts. Here we see the ghosts of a young Prince Rupert and his mistress Frances Bard enjoying a warm shower. |

http://vimeo.com/584484011 I thought I'd go with a shower curtain rather than a screen - less cleaning _________________ Dorothy: "there's no place like home!" |

Re: Challenge 869: In the shower
Well I did ....... and then I undid ........... Pear shaped is indeed where it went and I was forced to undo to make it Apple shaped once more! If you like horror stories then I have posted a bit about it Here in 'Off Topic'. Mac users I suggest you read it carefully. Windows users read it if you want a chance to feel smug. Anyway, long story short, I am back in a rejuvenated Mojave so hopefully once the fiddly bits of re-installation are over I may be able to contribute to this. _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |

David, I had to look up Mojave and Big Sur for Mac... and thanks, I do feel a bit smug... Hope the rest goes well for you. |

Hope it's going well, I did the same thing a while ago. _________________ Perfect confidence is granted to the less talented as a consolation prize. |

Re: Challenge 869: In the shower
Yes I remember. My upgrade went OK but Big Sur proved to be a disappointment to the extent that I downgraded again to Mojave. Full story Here _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |

Re: Challenge 869: In the shower
Great job on the Prince Rupert reflection and I love the reflection of the unseen round topped window in the extended part. Very subtle. _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |

David Michael very good work! I'm afraid--yet again--I was totally uninspired to make anything of this, so it looks as if I'm out |
