Challenge 871: Shrewsbury rooftop
Another visit to the Prince Rupert hotel in Shrewsbury, this time featuring a view from my window. The fire escape is relatively new, but it strikes me that it wouldn't take much to give it a Victorian (or, for true period placement, Tudor) appearance.

Michael Sinclair, just ignore these instructions.

High res is here.

A wooden fire escape for a wooden building?!?!?

Access maybe to the hotel's penthouse suite?

I'll bet they didn't have fire escapes in the 17th century. When a wooden house cateches fire you don't have long to get out. I expect they kept a rope by the bedroom window.

Funnily enough Michael I had exactly the same reaction.

In your new image one could also remove the aluminium windows and, quite possibly, the brick building in the background as well, leaving even less.

But we'll all find some way of having fun with it ......

....... although I am having a hard time thinking of one at the moment.

Need to sleep on it. 😴

Sounds like a good start.

Yes, you are right. Only a couple of houses are tudor. The others are more recent. I shall get rid.

Further modification. I might go to Germany for my inspiration

Re: Challenge 871: Shrewsbury rooftop
Obviously this has nothing to do with "being on brief", it's just what I saw when I first looked at the challenge. Western Oklahoma and downtown Tulsa, USA. After I had made four or five, I couldn't decide on which one... so I animated this three.

Thanks vibeke & Michael, moving the hotel to Oklahoma was fun to do.

Love the plains of Oklahoma, Loyd. Looks like it belongs there.

Thanks to Mariner for giving me the idea of the rope

I don't know why Michael, it's not working but just reposted the link.

Well, I logged into Vimeo and your video played perfectly, complete with Elvis. I don't know what's going on. Maybe my new Windows 10 security is being too hard on me. No problem. Forget it.

I have the same issue. Clicking on the link doesn’t work; haven’t tried to log into my account yet.

fwiw - Both links worked for me and I do not have a Vimeo account.

Good one Anna, the roof cave in and the elephant are great!

Anna one of your best: this is very, very good, and I really love it.

Provided that Mariner doesn't screw things up (and he could), then the Gold Star might be yours.
