Challenge 1021: The pringle sweater
I'm not normally one to question other people's dress sense, as mine own couture is limited to black jeans and whichever shirt/sweater is on top of the pile. But this leapt out at me in the window of a gentlemen's outfitter.

For those of you who thought this sort of establishment no longer existed, let me assure you that the traditional purveyor of clothing for the discerning gent is still alive and flourishing in Bury St Edmunds.

What got me here was not just the sort of clothing I wouldn't be seen dead wearing, but the pose: confident, patrician, pompous. Plus the fact that the trousers are missing, as if this is a character in a French farce.

Who would wear such an outfit?

High res is here.

I had to be the first with Mr. Fry, seems obvious choice.

Just so you will know, my computer failed Wednesday night and is in for repair. I wasn’t able to post my last entry in the well challenge (my best one imho). I will be unable to work on entries for two or three weeks. Adios for now….

I think I am right in saying the Pringle diamond pattern started life as golf attire. Certainly it has graced many golf courses and Steve asked for confident and pompous.

Re: Challenge 1021: The pringle sweater
Lots of varied entries already. The difficulty with this one is to try and get beyond simple 'heads, bodies and legs'.

When Steve suggests 'trousers missing' farce one man leaps instantly to mind!

For those of you outside the UK, in case you have never heard of him, Benny Hill was a comedian specialising in rather smutty comedy of what Brits call the "nudge, nudge, wink, wink" variety.

His show ran, in one form or another, from the mid 50's to the mid 80's. Full of sexual innuendo, it almost always involved well endowed attractive women. There was a regular troupe of these known as "Hill's Angels".

The show was hugely popular abroad and for many non Brits he was the face of British comedy.

Very funny Gordon.

In a magnanimous gesture of tolerance, the Taliban have allowed patterned textures to the standard burqa; however, traditional women's dress will not be tolerated. The child's changing facial expression (including blink) says it all

UPDATED to include rolling tears from little girl

There's more in the video, but these two are my favourites.

Fabulous entries. I laughed at the Pringles monkey. The subtlety of the child's facial expressions, Michael is well done. Upgrading the burqa is a great idea.

What a completely bizarre idea Michael!

But beautifully done.

The conversion to macho string vest is very clever and funny ......... but my firm favourite is Leonardo.
