Challenge 1114: Last bus to Burwell
I visited the splendid Burwell Museum last weekend, where among the many exhibits I came across this rather splendid bus. Can you give it a human driver, and put it back on the road? High res is here.  |

Unusually, a bit of plain dry documentary from me ………. 1979 - Driver Jim Neale about to turn into Burwell High street for the last time driving a bus that first entered into service in 1962. Steve’s instructions were to: “give it a human driver, and put it back on the road”, I did that with the first one. I then went to the other end of the spectrum using the “autopilot”, incidentally both backgrounds in mine were from image searches for “Burwell UK”. Gordon then went completely wild with the grim reaper version. 
Who’s next? Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Honer Blackman…?

My immediate thought too. The bodywork is completely flat where it should be curved. My guess is that the museum cab is a plywood mock up whose regional museum budget could not extend to creating the true curved bodywork and windscreens, but which is fitted with all the genuine passenger and driver seats, money tray, steering wheel assembly, handrails and other parts from the original. Such re-constructions are common museum practice. Yes there is AI, also images from Magic School bus and around 15 Photoshop layers. The Magic School Bus is an American animated educational children's television series, based on the book series of the same name by Joanna Cole and Bruce Degen. |
