Are these getting annoying?

Anyway, there are some really cool pictures here. Apparently they were shot by a kite. Drag the mouse to look around.

Thta's a bit mind blowing.

Not sure if I could trust my camera to be tied up to a kite and how on Earth could they get the kind of control needed to take a steady shot especially a series of panoramic shots that needed to be stitched together - it's way beyond my understanding. Or do they mean a "kite" as in the bird of prey as now I have visions of a hawk with a DSLR taking snaps from above.

Another Model airplane project. Using servos and swithes using in flying models. Brilliant idea. This would be a great project for a remote camera for taking wildlife photos at a distance. I have humming birds in my backyard that I want photos of but can't get the camera set and get close enough to shoot. With a rig like this it would be easier.

The rig is used to attach the camera to the kite line and it enables me to aim the camera in any direction. I can pan, tilt and rotate (switch between portrait and landscape modes), all from the ground using an RC transmitter for a model airplane. Of course, I can also snap a picture using the radio controller. I use a Digisnap 5000 in conjuction with a Schieppati Switch to fire the camera.

I use a Nikon Coolpix 5000 5-megapixel digital camera. With digital camera quality getting closer to film, this was an easy decision for me. Shooting digital allows me to take as many photos as I want, simply deleting the bad shots, and I don’t have to lower the camera every 24-36 shots to change film. In fact, I can shoot over 150 photos in high quality .jpg mode on a single 256 MB memory card. Admittedly, I am sometimes disappointed with the results when the camera falls short of what I believe film could have delivered. But overall, I am pleased with the quality. Plus I save a lot of money in film processing!
