Amazing photos
Hi all, Some of you may remember me. I'm a former regular, who is doing his best to get back here more often. I found this site which is purportedly the "definitive awards for outstanding press photography". It's not exactly Photoshop, but there are some truly amazing photos in there. Definitely worth a look. http://thepressphotographersyear.com/competition/results/ |

Fantastic images. But rather weird seeing them flash past automatically - I found I could only look at a dozen or so before I got saturated. So where have you been, Brian? |

Great photography, but so depressing. I got to 19. Isn't it a shame that the bad things in the world always gets more publicity than the good things. |

Re: Amazing photos
These are terrific. Id seen a selection in the Guardian a couple of months back, but the complete series is stunning. Especially striking are: 1: The most powerful of them all - rendered even more so by the juxtaposition of the London bombing photos that follow. 15. Very funny 27 - Fantastic !! The animal world strikes back !! 36. Love this one - will he ever emerge from Blair's shadow? 40. Great portrait of a troubled man. 62 - Chilling. Depressing. 70. What the ... ???? 96 Reminds me of an Avercamp painting (http://www.wga.hu/frames-e.html?/html/a/avercamp/index.html) *Steve - you dont have to "watch them flash past" ! Use the little arrows to scroll through at your leisure ! _________________ |

Steve, you really should take a second look when you get time. Once you use the little forward and backward arrows it stops "auto-playing" and allows you to scroll at your own pace. There really are some great images, and only a few are depressing. Regarding my recent whereabouts, I partnered with a guy who does web development a few months back, and I've been working at that nights and weekends. It's not exactly what I want to do, but it does pay well, and there is a modicum of creativity involved. I'd still like to make Photoshop my main gig, and getting back to the Friday challenges would be a step in the right direction. The talent bar seems to be rising ever higher on the forum! |
