Hi Kate

funny you mention sharpening as thats the subject im covering in the cs3 training im doing.
apparently so the experts say, avoid the 'single shot sharpeners' like the plauge as they are very basic and you have no control.
the 2 to use are unsharp mask (fairly basic gaussian blur), and the best of the bunch being 'smart sharpen' which is the most advanced of them all.
I didnt realise this but the photoshop sharpening tools are just blur functions, its more of a contrast trick than actually sharpening.

And apparently 'less is more' .

one of the negatives of sharpening is that it can highlight bad colour in an image, but if you goto 'fade' after the sharpening and chose luminosity rather than colour, that can be corrected easier than going into LAB colour.

Just thought id mention it while its fresh in my mind
