Photoshop beta is now available
The dependable piximperfect has demonstrated a new feature (among others) called Photo restoration whereby he shows (again among others) an old scratchy photo from or of the First World War that is transformed into a very sharp and detailed colour photo that you would think was very modern---amazing the web link is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K1xrOPKjPrA&t=74s |

Very interesting. I like how he has shown both the excellent and the ridiculous. I don't do this kind of work but it's really fascinating to see. I am very ambivalent about the new neural filters. Some of them do work quite remarkably and can save a lot of hard work, but somehow something that does it all for me lacks appeal. Like bunging stuff in the microwave instead of cooking. _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |
