First attempt with Nr.8 'Sand blasting' (How to...CS5), taking notice of the depht of field of the photograph. |

Yes! Very good! But are you using the brush on the mask in Dissolve mode? This would create a more sand-like appearance, as if individual grains of sand were onto of the objects. |

Hi Steve, I'd understand if you cannot always reply to any topic, but thanks very much you did for my latest ones. You are right of course about Dissolve mode. But the crispy grains of sand didn't look alright on the fuzzy foreground. But in future I will 'dig deeper' in this mode! |

Use Dissolve mode on the brush, then add a little Gaussian Blur to the Layer Mask. It works well! |

Arghh, I could've known this was the solution! That a mask can be blurred too |
