Auto align layers
These photos were taken hand held, and quickly as it was rather cold. It was only after I had taken them I decided to join them. Auto align layers (under Edit), made it really easy. 
These 4 photos are all at slightly different angles and magnification. Copy them all into one image (4 layers) Select all 4 layers Goto: Edit - Auto Align Layers And like magic, the all fit.
