Revisit Challenge 491: The tiled globe
Congratulations Steve for 500+ Friday Challenges. I was looking over some of the past Challenges. Re: Challenge 491: The tiled globe http://www.howtocheatinphotoshop.com/cgi-bin/simpleforum_pro.cgi?fid=06&topic_id=1391761663&page=2 This really is not a tutorial but a continuation to the discussion. I used Channels to get rid of that blue-green color difficult selection on the tiled globe. I used Color Range and Calculations and saved as Alpha Channels. Combined those two channels into a new Alpha and used Levels. As you can see all blue-green is totally gone. The old saying goes . . . if you ask 15 Photoshoppers how to do something you may get 15 different methods and techniques. Maybe someone will find this helpful. Kathryn ![]() |

That's a very effective solution, Kathryn. As you say, there are many different ways of achieving a result in Photoshop - but this is a very strong technique. Thanks for sharing it. |
