Sun outer glow in Deep space
I'm venturing into Deep Space now without the help of a video tutorial! Page 62, number 4 is causing problems. I have tried it twice and cannot work out where I am going wrong. When I apply the Radial blur I don't get a nice circular outer glow - it is all off-squiff! Any ideas where I am going wrong? _________________ Man cannot change the direction of the wind but he can adjust the sails |

Hi Puffin. I just tried this and at first it worked fine, then I moved the sun and tried it again and I got the same problem as you. I Think the Sun needs to be in the centre of the image. Try this: Re do the Sun in the centre of the image. Follow the steps in the book without moving the sun, and hopefully it might work? Then you can re position it afterwards. _________________ "Predictions are difficult. Especially about the future" |

Thanks, Artwell - that worked. Easy - when you know how! Now to tackle the flying saucers - I'll probably be back. Thanks again. _________________ Man cannot change the direction of the wind but he can adjust the sails |

The alternative is to move the sun wherever you like but draw a circular marquee selection around it before applying the blur filter. The marquee tells the filter the boundary and the centre of the blur so it should then work as expected. This is demonstrated in the creating a beard tutorial in the HotChips book. _________________ "We're going to need a bigger boat!" |

Thanks, Vern. I'll try that out as well. (I've done the beard tutorial but didn't remember it.) The more I practice the more I'll remember... (I hope) Thanks again _________________ Man cannot change the direction of the wind but he can adjust the sails |
