Deep space
Took a deep breath and attempted this with just the book (and a little help from here).

I had real trouble with the flying saucer when I squashed it vertically (no 7 page 67). It looked fine to me until I got as far as adding the dome etc - then I realised that the smaller light holes looked as if they were at the front. So I did it all again - and achived exactly the same result! In the end I did the nudge trick (no 8 page 67) up rather than down and that seemed better.
It has been a huge learning curve for me as I am hopeless at drawing but I have learnt a lot.

Here is my effort. I am pleased with it at the moment but I'll probably spot some problems tomorrow!

Re: Deep space
Splendid. A really good effort. I think I'd tuck the sun a little behind the frontmost saucer, just to stop it looking like a nearby fireball - otherwise great!

Thanks, Steve. I'm quite looking forward to tackling the Desk Drawer chapter now but I suspect completing it will take me a very long time!

Good job. The desk drawer was a fun and informative challenge. My only advice is work at a large scale, (I worked at 4000px 300dpi, which is a bit overkill), Also best to work on each image as a separate file. Organise and name your files and layers well to avoid headaches! Good Luck!!

Thanks, Artwell. I plan to do a little bit at a time - each item separately. I thought I might start with the elastic bands as Steve says they are the easiest object to draw in the book! I think the Friday Challenge might suffer whilst I work on the drawer
