Challenge 847: The hole in the wall
Outside the back of my son's house is a small car park. The side wall has clearly been patched a great many times in the wall's history. When I visited him last weekend I noticed a hole had been punched in the wall. What can have caused this catastrophic event? High res is here.  |

You're right in my case David, I have no idea... I do find them interesting though. Well, I have had nothing but ISP problems for nearly three weeks. After four different technicians, they ended up replacing a module in their main control panel that feeds my house. It has been working for nearly forty-eight hours now - - - I have my fingers crossed. 
P.S. Great work everyone on the Zero rebuilds, I just couldn't retain enough reliable internet service to participate.  |

No 1 is Desperate Dan who featured in one of the major comics of my youth. He spent a lot of time crashing through walls and suchlike in true comic fashion leaving his outline behind him. He ate huge cow pies. No 2 Boy superman is obvious. No 3 is from a wonderful TV series called 'Dad's Army". It was about the volunteer home guard of WWII which was composed mostly of those too old to be conscripted into the regular fighting forces. They always managed to get things wrong and one of the catch phrases was "Don't panic Mr. Mainwairing!". I have to confess Dennis I had never heard of him. On Googling I can see why. First off soccer is a subject of supreme lack of interest on my part. Never understood the excitement over grown men kicking a ball around. Secondly he appears to be mostly from the 1970's by which time my comic reading tended to be less frequent than when I was younger. However I can see why you mention him ........ Although I prefer it to soccer (not hard) rugby is also a game that leaves me cold. Way back in the eighties I was shooting in Cape Town during the rugby world cup. During the televised games the streets were practically empty! I can remember the utter disbelief from my South African crew when they discovered that I lived practically next door to Twickenham stadium and had never been to a game! _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |

My God! I am soooooo envious. 
I get about a quarter of those speeds. I have never ever before seen an upload speed greater than download.
