Challenge 848: The time travel lift
Back when we were allowed to do so, I made a visit to the splendid London Transport Museum. Taking the lift (elevator, Loyd and Frank) to the top floor, I was intrigued by this sign next to the call button:

Sadly, and possibly due to Covid restrictions, no such effects were in operation on the day I visited. What on earth could the sign have referred to?

Apologies in advance for the closeness of the shot: it was a very narrow corridor. Look on the awkward perspective as part of the Challenge.

High res is here.

Nice early entries guys.

Mariner, your lift interior works well. Check your perspective. Its slightly off. The top section above the lift doors is badly out. Additionally, the right top end should protrude past the upright a tad. Sort that out and your image will rest very nicely on the eye and be very realistic. Lovely insight.

Eventually, after 3 long weeks, it's my weekend off. Thought i'd post early-ish and add people later, like a sexy bar maid or something...lol.

I'll stick another of just the lift next week if I get time. It takes me 3 times longer than it should to do anything with this slow pc, time for an upgrade I think. Wife permitting of course.

I thought I would be able to add more people to the bar but i've just got wind of a 3D challenge that I'd like to participate in.

I would never have imagined the lift being turned into a bar, but wow, it works perfectly. Well done Dennis. Fabulous work everyone. Mariner, you have fitted out the lift beautifully. Even down to the emergency phone. Gordon, I love it but what I love the most is the infinity floor. That's very clever and suitable.

Re: Challenge 848: The time travel lift
Amazingly good entries this week and so many of them quick off the blocks. I think this is perhaps because this one is just packed full of possibilities once you open those doors.

Like everyone I was very tempted by all the sci-fi'ish, roboty, time travelly, infinite firmamenty, approach, but had the feeling that there would be lots of these and it might be fun to try and find a completely different approach.

It has not been unknown, in the past, for me to give Steve a hard time about some of his more his awkward wide angle offerings. So I decided, this time, to take my cue from this and see where the extreme perspective might take me if I opened it up and extended it into the far distance.

It proved far, far more work and more difficult than I had ever anticipated, but it was very challenging and a lot of fun for me as I love playing with perspective.

The second smaller image shows how it derives from Steve's original.

Impressive, David, and quirky, if a little dark. I can imagine them all dressed in prison clothing.
