Re: Ducks
I'm not sure about this particular event, but in Fort Bragg, California (northern coastal area) they have an annual rubber ducky race - starts somewhere up river and ends at the ocean. People go a bit nuts - they decorate their own duck(s), put them in costumes, etc. I have a dingy sister-in-law who does it every year. She's quite serious about it! Different strokes, huh? Myself, I keep my rubber ducky in the bath tub.......Joey |

Re: Ducks
Looks to me like the Mansbridge event where thousands of rubber duckies are dropped into the water from the old bridge and floated down river. I was going to go last bank holiday but unfortunately other events overtook. Do I win a prize? ![]() |

Re: Ducks
Joey, Vern, Our event was very small compared to yours. We just had small social to raise a bit money for local charities. http://www.meridenraid.org.uk/?p=640 oh Meriden RAID too. Bring your own BBQ. I was on cycle, so limited. It was on the river Blyth, which is ignored until it floods, but even then does little damage. It did change course though recently according to farmers. That sounds fascinating Joey. Maybe you can tell me/us more? Trevor couple of pics from local community ![]() |
