At least its not like a slide-show. Skip these. My friend decided he wanted to show me 1,2000 images (I did not know that at the time!), sorry even my patience frayed... nicely ![]() ![]() |

What on earth were you in? That plane has a very hand-built look to it. No, tell you what, don't answer that one. Gordon? Can you identify the plane? |

It's either a Boeing 737 or an Airbus 321/321; I would put a bet on the Boeing 737 ... but then I never was a good gambler! _________________ My neighbour knocked on my door at 2:30am this morning, can you believe that 2:30am?! Luckily for him I was still up playing my Bagpipes. |

Re: Flying over London into LHR Early Morning
Yes Gordon it was one of the Airbus 320 family, operated by Irish Aerlingus. Well done! ![]() I'm not sure if its was 320 or the stretched 321 version. Here is a clearer photo of engine pod, attachment strut and wing. The Leading edge slats are open though in this of course as comes into final approach. We still had 20-30 miles to run and with LHR congestion kept closed until later, though sure Gordon knows more about that than I could hope to infer. ![]() BTW on this photo you can see the the slates marker referencing the degrees of rotation/stretch 27 here, which you can see referenced on my photo before extension/rotation. Yes guess I'm a bit geeky sometimes. ![]() Steve, though the components are machine formed, as I understand, they are hand assembled with machine tools, plus lots of testing (e.g. x-ray) testing afterwards. I believe the top of the rib is titanium alloy. This has a strange property, apart from being very light and strong, but for us, i've noticed when incidence of strong sunlight is low, it looks almost black and exaggerates any small imperfections, e.g My image, vs the one above where sun has higher angle of incidence! ... and all I wanted to do is share some images of London ![]() Trevor |

Don't apologize, Trevor.........this is quite an interesting series - despite the fact that I've no clue whatsoever what you're talking about, it's like a little mystery story - I want to see what happens on the next page! Thank you Joey. And support your other one. It's thought it was natural as Josephine said. You should not encourage me. ...... I'll go back then to 7:40am Cork airport. 320 taxied 90% on the #1 runway. Ready to take-off on the banana runway. On that horizon it goes down and then a few hundred metres later before we leave the hill. 120m /330ft and then fall into Cork city going north. Even Ryan-air do not save money on that take-off unless go seawards ! Long story why it was built up there .... The sun is just thinking about coming up, winter 25 Nov Northern hemisphere ~ 54%. ![]() |
