Wearing a different hat
Nothing to do with Photoshop - sometimes I get away from the computer! For the past few months I've been working on sculpture. Check out the results here: http://www.saatchionline.com/caplin |

Wow Steve..these sculptures are very impressive! You have many strings on your bow lol. What material have you used to create them? Are they life size? Anna ![]() _________________ Dorothy: Toto, I've a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore |

Amazing Steve, wasn't aware you did installation art, kind of like George Segal meets Ed kienholz on acid. Great stuff! ![]() _________________ “Art Is Never Finished, Only Abandoned.” |

Re: Wearing a different hat
Ha! Glad you like them. They're life size, yes, and made from shop window mannequins cut up and rearranged, with heads and hands modelled in clay, dressed in real clothes and then covered in an awful lot of paint. |

Re: Wearing a different hat
I'm lucky if I get the FC done, let alone anything else! Great work Steve. I have seen some of these before. I wondered what they were made out of. They would look really good as a pop-up exhibition in a city space - but would they stand up to the elements? |

Re: Wearing a different hat
Amazing! I visit museums very regular and the colour of the lady (sit) is more often use (beautiful when looking at the real thing), but I have never seen it in this way. These are really pieces of modern art. The lady behind the computer is quite fascinating. Nothing to do with Photoshop indeed, but your subtle use of one colour going into the other (wind) looks like it's done with the Gradient tool. I'd wish I could approach them in 3D. Congratulations Steve. Hoping for you they'll sell in no time! |

If the hat fits wear it... Sculpture, I love it Steve. I did not know you were working on that. Your pieces are great! Very creative and I like the construction and the messaging. As you might know I love and do sculpture too. I studied it and was educated in practical parts. Due to lack of space my works have to be smaller than yours. My dad was great at it on a practical level. When my hands move, just like history I see him when I mould clay. What will you do next? Those are very well constructed, to name just one aspect. I love the dynamics..... ! Hope you can sell some, price seems good. If you want to cast for outside in concrete or bronze, very time ($) consuming I find. Good luck Steve, hope you can share more and can see sometime in real-life. Trevor |

My favorite sculpture is "wind". It reminds me human being life, a desire to reach goals and the obstacles which must be solved on this path. Great works. All the best Emil. _________________ I have the true feeling of myself only when I am unbearably unhappy. - Franz Kafka |
