Black and white
Hi,

first post in this section...

Much interested in study/doing B&W photos, I will love to receive feedbacks/advices from more experienced members...

This is a shoot of Livorno, Tuscany, the city were i live...

Any comments apprecited...

Beautiful image!!! was this blackened white processed in camera or in photoshop/lightroom etc? either way its beautiful

This was blackened and retouched in photohsop and lightroom

I'm attaching the original photo so you can see the before/after...

Black and white looks so beautiful. Love the added clarity and contrast in the sky. Lightroom is an amazing tool for photography, I tend to use it more on my straight photography, now. Have you ever tried any of the Nik software like silver effects pro, recently downloaded it and must say I'm very impressed, and it integrates well with both photoshop and light room

Yep - black and white images are beautiful - really an art.

Yes, I have tryed/studied Nik Silver effects pro and Topaz BW effects. Both are great plugins... Silver effects pro offer great presets, Topaz BW - somehow - give a bit more control... But I have dropped both plugins.

My idea was to use those plugins to try to have some good starting point, but I have completly dropped both: the results they offer simply can't be compared to personal/by hand retouching...
