surgery
Dear Steve, and forum members.......

I'm having surgery today at three o'clock. I am having my right ankle fused. I expect that recovery will be quite lengthy; I'm told I cannot put any weight on that foot for 6 to 8 weeks. So, since I live alone, I'm going to be in a skilled nursing rehab facility and I don't think I'm going to have any access to a computer. I don't have a laptop, so I'm going to be absent from the forum for a while. Hopefully recovery won't take as long as they say and I'll be back before you know it. Planning for this has been very time-consuming and I have missed a few Friday challengers, dammit.
And, I want you to know how grateful I am for the forum and your books and instructions. I cannot tell you what it has meant to me to be a part of this. I don't want to get all mushy so I will stop here.
Hope to be back soon, Joey.

Hi Joey,

Get well soon and, as they say in Scotland, haste ye back.

Re: surgery
Hi Joey,
So sorry to hear about this. If its any consolation, I recently had similar surgery on my foot. Snapped Achilles Tendon brought on by heel spurs. Its a very smart move going to a rehab facility. I wouldn’t of been able to manage at home without my family and friends helping out. The moon boot will become your best friend!! At first you will feel ambivalence towards it but with time you will be inseparable. I wish you all the best from the bottom of my heart and a speedy recovery. And you never know you may be able to access the computers at the facility there… tell them you need it for therapy lol
