Wonderful very early colour photography from the beginning of the last century.
I have a vague recollections of having posted these before. But I am really not sure. My miserable memory is letting me down again. I have checked and can't find them so, if I did, I suspect they are gone with the missing HTCP years ........ They are very early colour photographs from the start of the 20th century. There has clearly been some digital clean up and enhancement on these but it doesn't alter their fascination. Some are really beautiful. _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |

When I read of many of the early inventions, I wonder how they thought of them in the first place. Did the Lumiere brothers say to each other, "hey, maybe we can use dyed grains of potato starch to make colour photographs" - or did one of them simply spill his soup into some light-sensitive emulsions that were just lying around... thus stumbling onto the process. In any event, thanks for the link. Quite fascinating. |

Very interesting. Some look hand coloured, but I'll take your word for it that they aren't. |
