Glencoe Lochan
From Wiki:
After acquiring the Glencoe Estate in 1895, Donald Alexander Smith and his wife, Isabella Sophia Hardisty, moved from Canada to Scotland. Soon after their arrival, Isabella became increasingly homesick for her ancestral lands in Canada. In an attempt to abate his wife's depression, Donald Alexander Smith had this forest painstakingly planted, and granted it to her as a private refuge.

Re: Glencoe Lochan
Yes great photo Doug and I did not know that story. Interesting.
I've walked, climbed and motor cycled (and driven car of course, my daughters and their friend loved the wildness one February as we stopped on the way to Torridon) through Glencoe many times, including that spot. Camped in the wilds in all weathers top and bottom of the glen. I don't remember such good weather for us though very often.
Climbing/walking is very serious in winter. Several fatalities mainly due to fickle weather conditions.
Sorry my images just on film from Glencoe, so difficult to share. Anyway those are just informative, not works of art like yours.
