New Kings Cross
The station development has been progressing over the last few years and it seems to have taken an age. The new concourse opened within the last couple of weeks and while the modernistic design may not be to everyone's taste, I find it captivating. The new semi circular structure is sited on the west side of the old station building and the roof comprises a lattice work of tubular steel. Adjacent to the old wall are four supporting steel pillars from which the ceiling expands like a giant web. I shot this yesterday lunchtime while passing through. It is well worth a visit if you have the chance. I'll post another so you can see the larger expanse. Nick  |
