Re: Playing With Flowscape
The sky and landscape in the background? Very nice Frank. Love the foreground buildings too. I've had Flowscape a long time. It's huge fun and, on the face of it, looks dead easy. You can play with it like a game almost. But my experience is that it isn't as easy as it looks if you start to dig deeper. It's capable of being a very serious tool but, if you really want results, you need to take it as seriously as any other software and invest quite a lot of time and effort in learning it properly. That isn't a criticism ...... just an observation that swimming with Flowscape isn't quite as easy as the first easy paddle in the shallows might lead one to believe. _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |

I agree, David. It's great as long as you let it do what it wants to do. If you have a goal in mind then it's a steep learning curve. |

Thanks, finding that out as I navigate thru it. Can be quite unforgiving and requires lots of Saves. Again agree - have seen some very impressive works online - a tour through the Gallery is impressive. Putting on my lifejacket for the next dip. |

Re: Playing With Flowscape
Well now am I missing something obvious here (I'm quite good at that) but all I can do is stand in the middle and look around with most of the images in the distance. I've tried every button and key I can and can't get in to look at any image properly. Re: Playing With Flowscape
David, when you enter the Gallery to navigate use the WASD keys or just hold the "W" key and steer with your mouse through the different rooms . I assume that's what you mean. |

Re: Playing With Flowscape
Yes exactly what I meant. Thanks Frank. I tend to forget about the WASD keys because I don't use them unless there is no other choice. They are less conveniently placed on my French keyboard. There's some seriously impressive work there. I wouldn't have believed some of them possible if I hadn't seen them. Simple truth is I have never had any real need or motivation to invest the time needed to get expert. _________________ The subtlety and conviction of any Photoshop effect is invariably inversely proportional to the number of knobs on it ....... |

Thank you Frank for showing us what you've done. I'd completely forgotten about Flowscape but you've inspired me to get it out again. Fabulous _________________ Wicked Witch of the West:I'll get you, my pretty! And your little dog, too! |

Re: Playing With Flowscape
Thanks Anna, most welcome - Flowscape is all new to me but I gather it's been out for quite awhile - I plan to incorporate it into some Friday challenges - may come in handy to build some backgrounds. |
