Yes this is a classic fractal zoom. Very beautiful. Infinitely repeating patterns no matter how much you zoom in. Produced by mathematical theorems that I don't even pretend to understand. I played with them a few years back and even had a go at creating some. Google 3D fractal animation and you will find some really extraordinary things.
