F.V. Nightingale's final resting place
Just north of Port Edward; (named in honour of the man who would later become King Edward VIII) lies the final resting place of the F.V. Nightingale.

The 137 ton steam fishing trawler/cargo ship, ran aground on the rocks off Glenmore Beach, in 1933 due to fog.

I visited the site 2 days ago, whilst on holiday.

Last night, I experienced a night that I wonder if the conditions weren't similar to the Nightingales fateful night. Gale force winds and torrential rains hammered the Port Edward coastline. I thought I felt the chalet wall swaying due to the force of the wind. The growl of the wind, poor visibility and the crashing of the waves (approximately 100 meters east of the chalet); reverberated so much that I could have sworn I heard the thumping of a large engine. Maybe the wailing of the many ghost ships lost along that coast. I love storms but last night I wasn't to sure anymore.

Part of the hull. Steel and concrete.

Well I learnt that my cell phone doesn't take panarama shots, so I had to manually merge 5 photos together.

This is the coastline that the Nightingale beached on. I circled the boiler in red.
