Photoshop CS6 - everything you need to know
The public beta of Photoshop CS6 has been released - and there's a lot in this latest update. I'm doing a two-hour show on CS6 on the Retouch Pro website this Wednesday, and I really hope you're able to join me. It's a live show, which means you'll have the opportunity to ask questions as we go along. Full details here: http://www.retouchpro.com/forums/retouchpro-live/35356-retouchpro-live-photoshop-cs6-steve-caplin.html#post306147 Hope to see you online! |

Suggestion: Oh! by the way, can you ask Doug to update his image reference to your CS5 HTCIPS book cover, even better cascade your earlier versions behind to show your depth of experience. |

Darn it! I'm busy then so will have to wait till it's available for rental. If I download it, it won't over-ride CS5 will it? I have the CS5 Design Premium Suite. |

Would have loved to join you, but it would be 3am here. Will have to wait for the re-run. Mind you I'm a bit scared of looking at what CS6 has to offer asn I'm bound to want it. _________________ Perfect confidence is granted to the less talented as a consolation prize. |

Count me in. Hope it's a worthwhile upgrade as Adobe have now changed their upgrade conditions and you can only go from CS5 to CS6 and not miss out one or two. Could end up being very expensive. |

I believe they have changed that. I think you can go back as far as CS3. _________________ It must be Thursday, I never could get the hang of Thursdays |

I have downloaded the Beta and am using it, lots of things to like, a few I don't understand. Will I be able to 'rent' a copy of the live show. I'd love to see it. _________________ Perfect confidence is granted to the less talented as a consolation prize. |

What happened about the time I started talking? Is this something I should report to Doug? |

Re: Photoshop CS6 - everything you need to know
No, I just logged out and back in again. Had to do that a couple of times, but it was well worthwhile. Great show, I'll make sure to watch it again before my time runs out. Much as I would have loved to watch it live, this way is great, especially when the phone rings. Thanks for an other great show. _________________ Perfect confidence is granted to the less talented as a consolation prize. |

Re: Photoshop CS6 - everything you need to know
Saving in CS6, In CS5, you could save to JPG without first flattening an image, You can't do that in CS6, and I often find that even after using command/E the file still needs to be flattened first, even thought there doesn't seem to be any layers. Other saving problem is that if you do try to save a layered file or do a save as, and choose jpg the program will change it to an IMG and save a very small file. Is it just me? _________________ Perfect confidence is granted to the less talented as a consolation prize. |

Re: Photoshop CS6 - everything you need to know
I think it's just you! Choose Save As, and then choose JPEG from the pop-up list. It will tell you that you have to save as a copy in that format, then it will save as normal. What's happening when you try this? |

Re: Photoshop CS6 - everything you need to know
Hi Steve, this is what I mean. Once I actually flatten the image it's OK, but in CS5, I would have been anyway. Also the IMG file it saves is very small. cheers _________________ Perfect confidence is granted to the less talented as a consolation prize. |

Re: Photoshop CS6 - everything you need to know
Why are you saving as a .img file? It's a really bizarre format! Or is this something Photoshop is doing without you asking it to? |
