No it appears to be a number of us. I guess some sort of technical problem? Only used it once before and it was totally painless, but this time nowt!

Re: Retouch Pro: Christmas special!
Doug Nelson's internet connection went down half an hour before the webinar was due to start. He managed to phone me - the first time he's ever made an international phone call, I believe - but was not able to get the connection back again.

We're rescheduling for next Wednesday, 25 November, at the same time. I hope you can all still make it - but do get in touch with Doug at Retouch Pro for a refund if you'd rather.

Apologies for this. In the lap of the Gods!

Does that mean I can stop staring at this screen now and go to the toilet please? I was frightened to go before... didn't want to miss the beginning.

Thanks for letting us know Steve, look forward to next week I guess.

Cheers

Hello Steve, It was amazing look on that show.

Very nice work and a lot of new information. Great work Steve.

I have question, I like the Hemera Image browser (which you used to find santa and child), can you give me more information: is it software which I can buy or ?????

Let me know please.

Emil.

Great show as always, just wish my brain could take it all in and remember it. Steve I think you have to tape these yourself and sell the videos, Please..
Emil the Hemera image browser Steve used is one he got years ago, and can no longer find. He always says if anybody finds it for sale anywhere, they should buy it.

Re: Retouch Pro: Christmas special!
Vibeke, I agree it was a great 'show' and Steve I love the way you just accept things that are thrown at you and you have to think on your feet to achieve the affect, I don't think I have ever seen anyone 'busk' there way through a PS presentation! Most PS Trainers usually have there presentation all very carefully worked out and don't dare move off their script.

Finally, with my Marketers hat on, I hope you won't mind me saying that, Vibeke is right, you are missing a valuable opportunity here. With the technology at hand it would not be too difficult to record and edit the presentation and then offer it for sale. Doug say's that he often gets around a 1,000 people on line watching, if the price of the DVD was competitively priced at 'say' $10 (the same price as the show) you would average a gross income of around $10,000 or £6,060.00. OK, so maybe that is a bit optimistic! But if only 10% bought that would still net you around £600.00 per episode. Not to mention the on sales later!
I'd would be a regular at that kind of money, around the price of a quality monthly magazine. Plus, after the show finishes and you have gone I am left with a scrambled brain trying to remember the lightening keystrokes of Cyclone Steve!

Hope I haven't stepped over the mark here

Many thanks

Re: Retouch Pro: Christmas special!
Thanks for the suggestions, Mark and Vibeke. The number of people watching is nowhere near a thousand! Rarely up to a hundred, in fact.

But Doug is very against recording the shows, as he feels that they'd only get passed around as torrents or even on YouTube. He may or may nor be right. Anyway, he's unshakeable on this.

I agree, though, it would be good to have some way of watching the presentations on demand - and Doug's been trying to find a method for ages. Don't know why it's quite so difficult, but he assures me it is.

Don't you think the live aspect is part of the show's appeal, though?

Re: Retouch Pro: Christmas special!
The live part is definitely part of the appeal, but I would love to go back and play them again. Abode runs some live seminars, that a week or so later can be run on demand.

The presenter though aren't a patch on Steve.

Re: Retouch Pro: Christmas special!
It's the 'live' presentation that certainly give it that touch of... Adrenaline and makes is it almost... obsessive to watch, you are frightened to look away in case you miss something! It reminds me of when I was a young pro drummer, whenever I wasn't working I would carry the drums of my idol (Kenny Claire) into the studio, just so I could sit behind him and watch the session and try to follow the music part. I usually had only one chance!

However, the learning aspect of the show is undoubtedly second to none, because it's like sitting behind a pro in his studio and watching him work to a deadline and aiming for perfection.
I just wish that I could re-visit.

As I see it from a Marketing point of view, the worst thing that could happen is that Doug's show(s) is/are plagiarised and YouTube is swamped with clips all with an embedded 'RetouchPro' logo and web address. Imagine the exposure. This would also encourage more serious users to visit and pay for more shows. Finally, it's not as if the he is selling a product with a limited supply, with pros like you Steve, there will always be classes to teach and different directions to go in.

Anyway... that by the by... as long as you keep teaching I will keep watching and trying to learn!!

Thank you

Regards

Re: Retouch Pro: Christmas special!
Glad you all enjoyed the show! It was a good session.

Sophie, these webinars are never made available "on demand" - but there will undoubtably be a rebroadcast. I'll keep you informed.
