I have signed up too. It should be very interesting. I've not seen one of these before. How does it work? Do we see Steve sat at his keyboard like Reginald Dixon or do we just see his screen output. Is it usually high enough res to read stuff on screen? |

Re: Photoshop CS5
No we don't get to see Steve at all , just his screen, and it's very clear, like looking at your own screen. It will be 7am here. ![]() _________________ Perfect confidence is granted to the less talented as a consolation prize. |

Re: Photoshop CS5
Great show today, can't wait to get my hands on the new Photoshop, but feel I need a new computer first, and am very tempted to go for a Mac, only problem is money, money money. Thanks Steve, wonderful presentation as always. _________________ Perfect confidence is granted to the less talented as a consolation prize. |

Re: Photoshop CS5
Thanks Steve. That was a nice long look at CS5. I get fedup with experts on TV showing you interesting stuff and being told to hurry up because their 90 seconds are up. 2 hours was a reasonable time for you to show us properly. I'm interested that you had to upgrade your hardware to run CS5. What Mac do you have? The 3D seemed to work pretty smoothly on it. I liked your context aware fill demos. They were about what I expected. I was sure the Adobe demos chose photos that worked perfectly, but you used ones that showed its limitation. It's still a great tool though. I finally found the Full Screen button just as Doug was wrapping up ![]() Do you know how many viewers you had? |

Re: Photoshop CS5
Yeah, great show ![]() I was a little worried at first that it could be difficult to understand english accent, but it gone quite well. Nice cat you have ! Vibeke i find similar feeling about switching to new computer. Any clues Steve whats best for PhotoShop ? I tried once to tweek photoshop a little by getting rid of presets, but i end up crashing option "save for the web" ![]() As for CS5 im looking forward to experiment with content-aware-fill, and warp puppet. Ah so great stuff. Any clues when cs5 could be ready end holidays maybe or end of the year ? Btw. check up Modo for 3d, i was amazed as a beginer what i can do in 15 minutes, and what i could not for an 1,5h in 3dsmax. |

Re: Photoshop CS5
Glad you all enjoyed the show! There was a lot to talk about, and it's great finally being able to share CS5 with you. Paul: I have an 8-core Power Mac that's just over two years old, and I had to upgrade the graphics card as the original wasn't supported by the new 3D engine. I'm not sure exactly how many viewers we had, I know a lot are waiting for the more convenient time (for them) of the rebroadcast. Piotrek: CS5 will be out when it's ready... and judging by the latest betas, that could be another month or so. Worth the wait! I took a look at the Modo website, as you and Doug suggested, but... $995 seems a lot for an application! |

Re: Photoshop CS5 - rebroadcast this Saturday, April 17
Very exciting stuff Steve. Great show by the way, explained very well with excellent examples. First question: I am hoping to upgrade to CS5 from CS3. When I get your new book will it include items new from CS3 upward? Otherwise I might miss vital bits! Second question: Can you tell me if the following spec is good enough for 3D even though you are a MAC man? Processor: Intel Core Duo 3.06 GHz Ram: 4gb Graphics Card: NVidia GForce 220 1GB. Supports DirectX 10.1 (whatever that is). Thanks Sophie |

Re: Photoshop CS5 - rebroadcast this Saturday, April 17
Sophie, Glad you enjoyed the show. To answer your first question: yes, the new book includes most of the techniques for CS4 as well as CS5. I've missed out those where CS5 offers a better method of doing the same thing, and I'm having to cut a fair amount of older material as well to make room for the new stuff - but all the deleted pages are going on the DVD as PDFs, so nothing will be irrevocably lost! Your PC is certainly up to the task. I can't yet confirm whether your graphics card is up to it, and will have to check - I'll post details when I can get hold of them. |

Re: Photoshop CS5 - rebroadcast this Saturday, April 17
Steve I am really enjoying the book it's great! Unfortunately, I am also still working my way through the other two books!! Am I right in my understanding in your reply to Sophie that there is a DVD with the the new book? I ask only because there was no DVD with my book and am interested in obtaining it if possible. Re: Photoshop CS5 - rebroadcast this Saturday, April 17
Mark, If you're talking about 100% Photoshop, then no, there's no DVD - and that's because there would be no source images or fonts to put on it! That's the whole point of the book - everything is created in Photoshop, with not even a DVD drive required. |

Re: Photoshop CS5 - rebroadcast this Saturday, April 17
That's what I thought, it's just when you said the deleted pages are going on the DVD! Now I know you did this in HTCIPS, but I though in this conversation with Sophie you were discussing 100%! I know I am pretty dumb...so forgive me if I appear to be a schultz! Re: Photoshop CS5 - rebroadcast this Saturday, April 17
Shopie, Just a side note fyi: when I moved from CS2 to CS4, initially my NVidia driver did not support/compatible with latest graphics features implemented in CS4, but subsequently NVidia provided an updated driver version which could be download free. This worked fine. Have a great weekend ![]() ![]() |
