Happy Birthday Me
Amazingly I have today reached the age of 74, and the old adage springs to mind "There is no fool like an old fool". Sue, my wife, is also of that opinion. Sue is getting on a bit herself and is no longer able to walk as far as the shop to buy me a birthday card, so she asked me to make one for me for her, which I was glad to do. I didn't want to go down the standard hearts and flowers route, so I came up with this bit of black humour, and showed it to her to make sure she wouldn't object. She did object. So I am throwing it out to you lot. Don't take it the wrong way. It's a universal sort of card, I mean you could copy it and send it to very close friends or enemies alike!  |

Michael It's too ambivalent or ambiguous to be anything other than nasty! Do you have good relationship with your wife? Do you hate yourself and despair about it? But a happy birthday to you anyway. Here's a question for you and--indeed--anyone else who might see this: " What epitaph would you have on your gravestone? |

Happy Birthday Michael - many happy PS days ahead . Many ways to take this so I'll venture that with old age comes many aches and pains ( and Doctor's Visits) so while there may be many more they may not be as Happy. |

Michael, Really? Yes No Thanks On my gravestone, if I ever have one, I would like the following line: "I told you I was ill!" Spike Milligan, the most talented member of The Goons, asked for that to be put on his gravestone. I read somewhere that his request was not granted. But really I would like my ashes to be mixed with gunpowder, poured into a large rocket and fired off at midnight at the end of All Fools Day.

Happy birthday Michael! I read of a man who left instructions in his will for his ashes to be put into an egg timer, so he could keep active. Makes sense to me. |
