Christmas lunch 2014: Saturday 6th December

We've never tried a weekend get-together, and I thought it might be a good way to allow those who have real jobs during the week to get along.

Any takers for Saturday 6th December? The George Inn, Southwark, London, is once again my preferred venue, as it's easy to get to and does a good lunch.

Looking forward to seeing as many of you as can make it!

If you are willing to Skype me again, I can make it. What time?

Week days are easier for me, but if everyone can make the Saturday, then so can I.

Not too sure if I can make it. I have a dinner to go to that evening where I may have to give some help but if I don't leave too late then it should be OK.

I could so easily have "Eurostar'd" to this but its the day my kids arrive from UK and Germany to stay with us. Family come first .....

Would it be easier for everyone if we changed to Friday 5th? David, it would be great to meet you!

The 6th works better for me as it means Josie can come, too.

6th would be better for me too. Friday evening is fine, but lunchtime isn't as I can't afford to take a day off work if I am working that week. Would Friday evening be an option?

Well, seeing as we have a few days, let's take the democratic approach and I'll count up the votes after the weekend:

To be honest 5th would probably cause some ..... er ..... domestic discord if I leave my wife on her own to prepare everything for visitors who will be staying a week.

Let's hope in the summer ......

Ok Saturday it is! I'll be there from 12, let's say lunch at one. Hope those of you joining us by Skype will be able to stay up late or get up early.

Any more takers? Nick C, BigVern, I'm looking at you...

Hi Steve and HotChippers,

Thank you for the invitation but I am afraid I will not be able to make it.

I hope you all have a lovely meal and a great Christmas!

Best wishes
Vern

Can't make it this year - perhaps next summer?

Have a great time and Happy Christmas to all

Thank you Steve and all for a wonderful time last night. I haven’t laughed this much in ages. Skype charades was an ingenious solution to the lack of headphones problem! Josie it was lovely to meet you too!
